New Zealand Sponsored Riders

Lauren Haig

I am a twenty-one year old dressage rider, and fourth year law student. I got started in dressage after being offered the pony, 'Christmas Edition' to ride, and after a rocky start we had a hugely successful couple of years together, including a win at the FEI World Dressage Challenge. However I soon outgrew him by the time I was 13, so he was sold, and now resides in Germany. Moving onto hacks at 13 was a big challenge, but within two years I thought I had a horse that would go all the way through the grades. This came to a devastating end in the 7.1 Magnitude Darfield Earthquake in September 2010, where he sustained a career ending injury, and was put to sleep as a result. 'Westford Lanciano' then came along as a green and gangly five-year-old, and five years later we are competing successfully at FEI level, with the goal of getting to Grand Prix in the near future. I am incredibly lucky to have a great support network of people behind me, including two owners, who own my other current rides 'Grandioso BH' and 'Vasili'. My long term goals are to train all three horses through to Grand Prix level, and compete internationally. A big thankyou to Stamanol for making it a little easier to pursue my goals, and to be able to have my horses look fantastic along the way!

I am 23 years old and have been riding horses since I was 3. I am a full time student in my 5th year of a Double Degree in Law and Commerce (Accounting and Tax). I also own and manage DS Equestrian along with my mum (Sonja) where we aim to breed and train all-round sport horses with enough quality to enter the show ring. I have had many successful years competing in dressage to level 6/7, show jumping to 1.20m, eventing to 1.05m, side saddle and showing to a national level.

After a number of very successful years in the show ring, including wins at Horse of the year, I am now going to focus primarily on dressage with my current team and continue to campaign lightly in other disciplines also.

My team currently comprises of my 7yr old WB x Arab “Jonty” (Integrities Promise), my 4yr old Riding Pony x Arab “Richie” (Greenmoor Euphoria), my 3yr old WB “Gretel” (Farloe Gretel), and Kazmere Stud’s WB Stallion “Meteor” (Flowervale Meteor). All horses will compete this year at differing levels. I hope to have Meteor and Jonty competing at least level 4-5 by the end of the season, Richie at level 3, and Gretel will be at level 1. I will also compete in showing, jumping and side saddle; and campaign some of our youngstock inhand.

I am very excited about the season ahead with this fabulous team and with the help of Stamanol, they are even better! I have been using Stamanol for a while now and have seen huge improvements in the horses coats and toplines, along with improved muscle recovery times and reduced irritation on my horses sensitive to allergies (particularly sweet itch). All this improvement and only I only have to feed one product!

Thank you so much to Joyce for your wisdom in producing this fantastic product and also for this great sponsorship opportunity, I really appreciate it!!!
